Announcement: A danse show and a music concert in Birzeit

L’Officina – Atelier Marseillais de Production and Sareyyet Ramallah – France/Palestine
The project of Dance Map is a collective art project between L’Officina production from France and Sareyyet Ramallah. The project started in 2013, and it is an invitation for the audience to visit various spaces through an art trip that consists of small dance shows. This year’s art work will be produced specifically for the Ramallah Contemporary Dance Festival through a collective work under development that gathers Palestinian and French artists, each looking for the relation of art and society as a common concept in their own language.

On the agenda: Student Open Days
As every year in April/May, we organize open days for all circus clubs in all locations to celebrate International Circus Day and to give our students the chance of showing their friends and families the circus tricks they have learned throughout the year. Open Day schedule for this year will be as follows:
Thursday, April 21: last training for Al Nahda students
Saturday, April 23: Open Day for Yalla Nelaab groups in Ramallah from 3:00 to 4:30 - in Birzeit from 3:30 to 5:00PM
Tuesday, April 26: Last training for Star Mountain students
Thursday, April 28: Open Day for Jenin Rehabilitation Centre at 11:00AM - Al Faraa Club at 1:00PM - Jenin at the Freedom Theatre at 5:00PM
Thursday, May 5: First presentation of our student production group at 6:00PM
Friday, May 6: Open day in Birzeit for the remaining Multi and Moon groups from Ramallah and Birzeit
On the agenda: trampoline and teeterboard workshop
From May 10 to 21, for the fourth year in a row, Arnaud Thomas from the Centre National des Arst de Cirque (CNAC) in France will come to continue with the trampoline and teeterboard workshop to bring our traiers on the next level. Thanks to this continuous workshop, we have been able to introduce trampoline classes in our weekly cirucs clubs and hopefully will be able to introduce them to the basics of teeterboard soon.
What we have been up to: Capacity Building Workshops
With Sonnenstich (Zentrum Fur Bewegte Kunst)
In March, PCS had its second week of introduction to the didactics of Zentrum Fur Bewegte Kunst from Berlin, Germany, that aims at building the capacities of our trainers in teaching circus to children and youth with intellectual disabilities. In June, one of our trainers will travel to Germany for a one month intensive workshop
With Circus Zonder Handen from Belgium
Last December, 5 circus artists from circus Zonder Handen arrived to PCS for a 10 day workshop with our trainers and some of our students. This is the first step of a long term cooperation with them. In July, the Palestinian team will travel to Belgium for a second workshop.
With individual artists:
Matthias, a German trainer from Circus Momolo who joined us from January 17 until February 14 to give a clowning, mime, and a buble workshop for our trainers/ students
Aslack and Melanie, from Denmark and Germany who joined us for two weeks in February for a workshop on the Chinese Pole, acrobatics and slack rope
Antonio, from Belgium, also a member of Circus Zonder Handen, joined us in March/ April to give a workshop on acrobatics/teeterboard

Solidarity Actions with our colleague Mohammad Abu Sakha:
As you may already know, our friend and colleague Mohammad Abu Sakha was arrested on December 14, 2015. without charge. Since then, many protests and solidarity actions have been organized in the UK, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Denmark, Jaffa, Palestine, and many other.

Last shows of Mish Zabta
Since last October, Mish Zabta had the chance to perform 10 times in Bethlehem, Al Attara village in Jenin and mostly under our circus tent in Birzeit in cooperation with many local institutions, schools, youth organizations and international NGOs. With the last 10 shows we proudly reached an audience of over 1700 people.
PCS Participation in different occasions through cooperation with different partners:
Nawwar Nissan Festival:
In cooperation with the Municipality of Ramallah, PCS trainers offered two circus workshops on March 31 and April 2 for school children in Ramallah and Birzeit. In addition to that, some of our students participated in a parade that invaded streets of Ramallah on April 1.
The Palestinian Performing Arts Network:
As a member of PAN, PCS participated in an event organized by the Palestinian Performing Arts Network (PAN) to support The Palestinian National Theatre (Al Hakawati) which is threatened of enclosement by the Israeli occupying forces.
Al Haraa Theatre:
For the second year in a row, PCS hosted another christmas show of Al Harah Theatre. "Bondoq Fil Fondoq" had two performances, a morning show for school children and an evening show for open public.
Movenpick Hotel - Ramallah:
Student presentation on December 8, as part of a charitable event organized by the Movenpick hotel that included the lightening of the Chirstmas tree.
On March 22, PCS participated at the closing event of the Francophonie where Al Yasmeen Charitable organization was supported
Orient & Dance Theatre:
PCS hosted a Music Concert organized by Orient & Dance Theatre on October 17.
